    Inherited from Old East Slavic мощь (moščĭ), borrowed from Old Church Slavonic мощь / ⰿⱁⱋⱐ (moštĭ), from Proto-Slavic *mȍťь, from Proto-Balto-Slavic *magtis, from Proto-Indo-European *mogʰtis, from *megʰ-.

    Cognate with Russian мощь (moščʹ). Doublet of мочъ (moč), inherited from Proto-Slavic and моцъ (mocʹ), borrowed from Old Polish.
