[edit]Inherited from Old East Slavic наставьникъ (nastavĭnikŭ), from Old Church Slavonic наставьникъ (nastavĭnikŭ). Cognate with Russian наста́вник (nastávnik), Serbo-Croatian на́ста̄внӣк.
