Borrowed from Polish rejestr. Compare Russian рее́стр (rejéstr). Doublet of рэгі́стр (rehístr).

  • In general, рэгі́стр (rehístr) has a wider scope than рэе́стр (rejéstr), for example pertaining to registers used in music, while the latter is generally only used for terms relating to direct recording of data.
