Etymology

From Old East Slavic стькло (stĭklo), inherited from Proto-Slavic *stьklo, from Gothic 𐍃𐍄𐌹𐌺𐌻𐍃 (stikls). Doublet of шкло (šklo), a borrowing from Polish.
