Etymology[edit]

The original spelling is արտաւսր (artawsr), from *արտաւր (*artawr), from Proto-Indo-European *draḱru-, whose plural yielded արտասուք (artasukʿ); the singular *արտաւր (*artawr) seems to have adopted the -ս- (-s-) of the plural.[1][2][3]
