Etymology

According to J̌ahukyan, from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Armenian *բտկել (*btkel), from a root *բիտ- (*bit-), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *bʰid-, an ablaut grade of *bʰeyd-, grown in Armenian with a -կ- (-k-).
