Old Armenian

Etymology

The original meaning must have been “white(ness), white/shining (thing)”, ultimately from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European *lewk-, whence also լոյս (loys). Compare Ancient Greek λεύκωμα (leúkōma, white spot in the eye).
