Old Armenian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Martirosyan derives from կոստղ (kostł, twigs on which bird-lime is smeared to entangle birds) +‎ (-i, tree-suffix). Bird-lime is a sticky substance prepared from holly-bark or mistletoe berries.
