Old Armenian[edit]

Etymology[edit]

Uncertain. Traditionally compared with Ancient Greek ἐρευνάω (ereunáō, to seek, to search for) and ἐρεείνω (ereeínō, to interrogate), but there are phonetic difficulties. Alternatively, may be prefixed with *pro-.
