Etymology

From the same (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Indo-European root as քերեմ (kʻerem), but grown with -ծ- (-c-). Cognate with Lithuanian sker̃sti and Latvian šķērst.

Verb

քերծեմ (kʻercem)  (aorist indicative քերծեցի)

  1. (transitive) to strip off, to peel, to bark, to pare
  2. (transitive) to shave

Usage notes

Do not confuse with գերծեմ (gercem).
