- (And) (he/it) rose: third-person masculine singular vav-consecutive imperfect (hence past tense) of קָם (kam).
- Tanach, Exodus 1:8, with translation of the King James Version:
- וַיָּקָם מֶלֶךְ חָדָשׁ עַל מִצְרָיִם
- Now there arose up a new king over Egypt
