1. to abandon, to desert, to leave
   • 1938, Nathan Alterman, Still the Tune Returns 1–2:

     עוד חוזר הניגון שזנחת לשווא \ והדרך עודנה נפקחת לאורך

     od khozér hanigún shezanakhtá lasháv / vehadérekh odéna nifkakhát la'órekh

     Still the tune returns, which you abandoned in vain / and the way still opens throughout
