Etymology

Possibly cognate with Arabic وَكَلَ (wakala, to trust) (Shared with Akkadian and Ethiopic), from Proto-Semitic *wakal-. Alternatively, Huehnergardand and Olyan propose k-h-l as the proto root.[1]
