- Third-person plural past (suffix conjugation) of מֵת (mét).
- Tanach, Exodus 4:19, with Young's Literal Translation:
- כִּי־מֵתוּ כָּל־הָאֲנָשִׁים הַמְבַקְשִׁים אֶת־נַפְשֶׁךָ
- ki-métu kol-haanashím ham'vak'shím et-nafshécha
- for all the men have died who seek thy life
