1. (Biblical Hebrew, plural only) men (especially few in number)
   • Tanach, Psalms 17:14, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:

     מִמְתִים־יָדְךָ יְהֹוָה מִמְתִים מֵחֶלֶד חֶלְקָם בַּחַיִּים...

     mi-mtím yadkhá adonái mi-mtím me-ḥéled ḥelqám ba-ḥayyím

     From men, by Thy hand, o LORD, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life...

   • Tanach, Psalms 105:12, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:

     בִּהְיוֹתָם מְתֵי מִסְפָּר כִּמְעַט וְגָרִים בָּהּ׃
