Etymology

From Proto-Semitic *ṣ-ɣ-r (to be small, young). Compare Arabic صَغِير (ṣaḡīr).

צָעִיר (tza'ír) (feminine צְעִירָה, masculine plural צְעִירִים, feminine plural צְעִירוֹת) [pattern: קָטִיל]

  1. Young (in the early part of life or growth).
