    Inherited from Middle Hindi سڙک (sṛk /⁠saṛak⁠/) (c. 1611),[1] from Proto-New Indo-Aryan *𑀲𑀟𑀓𑁆𑀓 (*saḍakka), from Sanskrit सृ॒ति (sṛtí) extended with Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓𑁆𑀓- (-kka-).[2]
