Etymology

From Persian تازه (tâze) or its Middle Persian ancestor. The variant طازَه (ṭāzah) shows the modern Persian development. The form ṭāzaj shows an older, more Middle Persian form; compare Arabic بَرْنامَج (barnāmaj) with modern Persian برنامه (barnâme).
