From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Middle Persian 𐭠𐭬𐭥𐭥𐭣𐭠𐭣 (amurdād), lit. “immortality”; name of the sixth Amahraspand (divine deity) in Zoroastrianism. Compare مردن (mordan, “to die”).
