Etymology

Derived from the passive participle of سَلَّ (salla, to pull out, withdraw, or remove gently), from the root س ل ل (s-l-l).

مَسْلُول (maslūl) (feminine مَسْلُولَة (maslūla))

  1. someone with tuberculosis; consumptive
    وَلَدٌ مَسْلُوْلٌ.waladun masluwlun.a consumptive child.

  2. (sword or weapon) drawn, unsheathed
