Etymology

Derived from the active participle of أَضَاءَ (ʔaḍāʔa, to illuminate, to cast light upon), from the root ض و ء (ḍ-w-ʔ).

مُضِيء (muḍīʔ) (feminine مُضِيئَة (muḍīʔa), masculine plural مُضِيئُون (muḍīʔūn), feminine plural مُضِيئَات (muḍīʔāt))

  1. light (not dark)
  2. bright
