From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Middle Persian [script needed] (anōšēn, ambrosial, sweet), from 𐭠𐭭𐭥𐭱 (anōš, ambrosia) + [script needed] (-ēn), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Old Persian *anauša- (immortal), from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Iranian *an-auša- (immortal). Compare Persian انوشه (anuše/a, immortal) and Persian نوشیدن (nušidan, to drink).
