Inherited from Chagatai یانگاق (yaŋgaq) or یانگاغ (yaŋgaɣ), from Karakhanid یَغاقْ (yaɣaq), from Proto-Turkic *yaŋgak.[1][2] Cognates with Kazakh жаңғақ (jañğaq), Kyrgyz жаңгак (jaŋgak).
