Not present until the late 18th century and borrowed from a Caspian language, bearing formerly also the forms گوله پر (gōla par), کله پر (kula par), meaning “leafy ball”, referring to the umbels, see گوی (gōy, “ball”) and پر (par, “wing; feather; leaf”).
