From Aramaic קַרִּירָא (qarīrā); related to Hebrew קַר (kar) and Arabic قَرّ (qarr) as well as Arabic قَرِير (qarīr).

Usage notes[edit]
To express feeling the sensation of coldness, possessive pronouns are added to ܩܲܪܬ݂ܵܐ (qarṯā), e.g ܩܲܪܬ݂ܝܼ ܝܠܵܗ̇ (qarṯī ìlāh, “I am cold”, literally “she (it) is my cold”).
