Etymology[edit]
Inherited from Sanskrit कोष्ठागार (koṣṭhāgāra, “a granary, store-room, a treasure, an inner apartment, hollow in a tree”). Cognate to Urdu کوتھَرِ (kothar-i, “a small room, a cabin; a closet”). Doublet of ކޮށާރު (koṣāru) and ކޮޓާރު (koṭāru)
