Cognate with Avestan 𐬐𐬆𐬵𐬭𐬞𐬇𐬨 (kəhrpə̄m), Middle Persian klp (kirb, “body, form”), Latin corpus, Old Armenian որովայն (orovayn) and Old English hrif (whence English riff).
