Etymology[edit]
Derived from Sanskrit जम्भ (jámbha) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀟- (-ḍa-) + -𑀓- (-ka-), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *ȷ́ámbʰas, from Proto-Indo-European *ǵómbʰos. Doublet of जंभ (jambh).[1] Cognate with Marathi जबडा (jabḍā).
