Inherited from Sauraseni Prakrit 𑀢𑀺𑀡 (tiṇa) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓𑁆𑀓- (-kka-), from Sanskrit तृण (tṛ́ṇa). Doublet of तृण (tŕṇ).
