[edit]Inherited from Prakrit 𑀡𑀢𑁆𑀢𑀼𑀅 (ṇattua), from Sanskrit नप्तृ (náptṛ) + Middle Indo-Aryan -𑀓- (-ka-). Cognate with Marathi नातू (nātū), Hindi नाती (nātī), Bengali নাতি (nati), Assamese নাতি (nati).
