From Proto-Indo-Iranian *HbʰrúHs (eyebrow), from Proto-Indo-European *h₃bʰrúHs (eyebrow). Cognate with Persian ابرو (abru), Ancient Greek ὀφρύς (ophrús), Tocharian B pärwāne, Old English brū (whence English brow).
