    • c. 1500, Surdas, Sursagar :
      सूनैं भवन कहूँ कॊउ नाहीं, मनु याही कौ राज ।
      भाँड़े धरत उधारत मूँदत, दधि माखन कैं काज ॥
      sūna͠i bhavan kahū̃ kǒu nāhī̃, manu yāhī kau rāj .
      bhā̃ṛe dharat udhārat mū̃dat, dadhi mākhan ka͠i kāj .
