Borrowed from English camera, from Latin camara, camera. Doublet of কোমর (kōmor) and কামরা (kamra). Cognate with Assamese কেমেৰা (kemera), Hindi कैमरा (kaimrā), Gujarati કેમેરા (kemerā).
