Borrowed from Arabic فَيْرُوز (fayrūz, turquoise), from Middle Persian 𐭯𐭩𐭫𐭥𐭰 (pērōz, victorious), with feminization of the term and association of victory (among other positive qualities) with the turquoise stone. Doublet of ফিরোজা (phirōja) and পারভেজ (parbhej).
