Etymology
[edit]From Early Assamese হন্তে (honte), from Magadhi Prakrit 𑀲𑀦𑁆𑀢 (santa) with locative -এ (-e), from Sanskrit অস্ (as). Cognate to Sylheti ꠅꠘꠦ (one), Kudmali হঁঁতে.

- I could have got hold of Satrajit and brought him, but I could not do (so) for the sake of a friend.
