Inherited from Sanskrit आस्थापन (āsthāpana, strengthening remedy). Cognate with Hindi अथाना (athānā), Kachchi આથાણૂ (āthāṇū), Marwari अथाणौ (athāṇau), and Sindhi آٿاڻو / आथाणो (āthāṇo).
