Inherited from Prakrit 𑀤𑀼𑀯𑁆𑀯𑀸 (duvvā), from Sanskrit दूर्वा (dū́rvā), from Proto-Indo-European *dŕ̥H-weh₂ (“grass”). Cognate with Nepali दुबो (dubo) and Odia ଦୁବ (dubô).
