[edit]Inherited from Apabhramsa 𑖀𑖘𑖿𑖙 (aṭṭha), from Prakrit 𑀅𑀝𑁆𑀞 (aṭṭha), from Sanskrit अष्ट (aṣṭa). Cognate with Assamese আঠ (ath), Bengali আট (aṭ), Marathi आठ (āṭh).
