  1. A Malayalam diacritic for (va) called കൗവ്വക്കൂട്ടം, when combined with a constant it labialize or labiodentalize the consonant.

  • ക (ka) + ്വ = ക്വ (kwa)

Usage notes[edit]

  • This grapheme is appended to the right side of a consonant, and it changes the syllable from /◌a/ to /◌ʷa/ or /◌ᵛɐ/ or /◌ᵝ̞ɐ/.

e.g. സ (IPA:/sɐ/) becomes സ്വ (IPA:/sʷɐ).
