Borrowed from Angkorian Old Khmer វ្នាក៑ (vnāk), វ្នក៑ (vnak), ព្នាក៑ (bnāk), ភ្នាក៑ (bhnāk). Cognate with Modern Khmer ភ្នាក់ (phnĕək), Lao ພະນັກ (pha nak).
