[edit]Inherited from Old Burmese ခိုဝ်း (khuiw), from Proto-Sino-Tibetan *r-kəw ~ hu (“to steal”). Cognate with Nuosu ꈐ (ku), ꈏꐷ (kux njie, “to steal”), Lolopo ker (“to steal”), Naxi kv (“to steal”), Jingpho lägu (“to steal”), Drung keu (“to steal”), Yakkha खुमा (khuma, “to steal”), Tibetan རྐུ (rku, “to steal”).
