From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Georgian-Zan *mgel- (“wolf”). Cognates include Georgian მგელი (mgeli).
Possibly derived from (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Lua error in Module:parameters at line 376: Parameter 1 should be a valid language or etymology language code; the value "hyx" is not valid. See WT:LOL and WT:LOL/E., but see Old Georgian მგელი (mgeli) for more.
