[edit]From Old Georgian მცირჱ (mcirē), from Proto-Georgian-Zan *cir-[1] or from Proto-Georgian-Zan *mcire- (“little, small”).[2] Cognate with Mingrelian ცირა (cira, “girl; daughter”).
