From Old Georgian სპეტაკი (sṗeṭaḳi), from Middle Iranian. Compare Middle Persian spytk' (spēdag, “white (of egg, etc.)”) and Old Armenian սպիտակ (spitak). See Persian سفید (safid) for more.
