An old compound where the first element goes back to (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Proto-Georgian-Zan *c₁ic₁- (small insect, moth) (akin to (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Mingrelian ჩიჩი (čiči), ჩინჩი (činči) and (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Laz ჩიჩი (çiçi)), while the second part reflects (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Georgian ნათელი (nateli, light).
