From Old Georgian ჭაბუკი (č̣abuḳi), ჭაპუკი (č̣aṗuḳi), from Middle Persian [Book Pahlavi needed] (cʾp̄wk' /⁠čābuk⁠/, agile, nimble; excellent). See Persian چابک (čâbok) for more. For the given name compare Middle Armenian Ճապուկ (Čapuk).
