According to Ačaṙean, borrowed from Armenian. Compare Old Armenian ջնջեմ (ǰnǰem, to wipe clean), ջինջ (ǰinǰ, clean), Armenian ջնջոց (ǰnǰocʻ, cloth, rag for dusting, cleaning).
