From English rhinoceros, itself from Latin rhīnocerōs, from Ancient Greek ῥῑνόκερως (rhīnókerōs, nose-horned), composed of ῥῑ́ς, ῥῑνός (rhī́s, rhīnós, nose, of (the) nose) + κέρας (kéras, horn).
