From Proto-Germanic *satidǭ, first-person singular past indicative of *satjaną. Cognate with Gothic 𐍃𐌰𐍄𐌹𐌳𐌰 (satida), first/third-person singular past indicative of 𐍃𐌰𐍄𐌾𐌰𐌽 (satjan).
