Ancient Greek[edit]

Pronunciation[edit]

Verb[edit]

ἀνᾴσσω (anā́issō)

  1. (Attic) contracted form of ἀναΐσσω (anaḯssō)

Usage notes[edit]

Although one would expect -ττ- (-tt-) rather than -σσ- (-ss-) in a genuine Attic form, the -σσ- (-ss-) is used by the Attic author Aeschylus, and no forms with -ττ- (-tt-) are attested.
